Weather Forecast for the Week Commencing August 25 2025

The week ahead for the UK is shaping up to be a largely unsettled affair, with a consistent theme of rain and cooler temperatures dominating the forecast. While a fleeting glimpse of sunshine may be possible, it will be short-lived as a series of low-pressure systems move across the country.

The week starts with a mix of conditions. While some areas may enjoy a partly cloudy start, it's a prelude to what's to come. Temperatures will feel mild, but by the evening, the chance of rain will increase, particularly for southern and western parts of the UK.

As we move into the middle of the week, the weather will take a decidedly wetter turn. A band of rain is expected to sweep across the country, bringing a high chance of precipitation for many. This will also be accompanied by a noticeable drop in temperatures, making it feel much more like autumn than late summer. Highs are not expected to get much beyond the low teens in many places, a stark contrast to the warmer temperatures experienced recently.

This unsettled pattern is set to continue for the latter half of the week. While the rain may become more showery in nature, rather than persistent downpours, the overall theme remains the same. Cloudy skies and the possibility of showers will be a common feature. The wind is also expected to pick up at times, particularly in coastal areas, adding to the feeling of a cooler, more blustery week.

With the persistent rain and lower temperatures, it's a week to be prepared for all conditions. Those with outdoor plans may need to be flexible and have a waterproof jacket at the ready. While there are no severe weather warnings currently in place, the Met Office and other weather agencies will be monitoring the situation closely. It is always advisable to check local forecasts for the most up-to-date information, as conditions can vary significantly across the different regions of the UK.
